Meet Jordan

Co-Founder of Wellrado

Where did you grow up?

Like Lyndsay, I am also a Colorado native. I grew up in Southeast Colorado and now live in the Northeast part of the state. If you are not from Colorado, all you need to know is you can’t see the mountains, it’s basically Kansas and its plains for as far as the eye can see. Both Brady and I went to college on the east coast, at the same time, but never crossed paths.  He attended Duke University and I attended Monmouth University in New Jersey on a softball scholarship. We are happy to be raising our family back in a small rural town.

What do you enjoy in your free time?

What is free time?! I spend my time loving and caring for my two little boys and my husband. Cooking simple, healthy meals, and in this season of life, consuming as much information as I can on holistic and integrative modalities to incorporate into my husband’s healing journey. I love raw milk lattes and time spent with my people. When I need a creative outlet, I am always dreaming up ideas for Wellrado and sending Lyndsay way too many voice messages. For what I lack in energy most days, I’ve got LOTS of ideas!

What are your daily non-negotiables?

There are a few things that I’m slowly adding to my daily non-negotiables, but I always start the day out with a good morning ritual with each of my boys. Those simple interactions are sacred to me, and I crave that moment of connection as much as they do. I try to prioritize hydration first thing in the morning - right now it looks like lemon water, then celery juice, a few tinctures and then electrolyte water. It’s important to me to feed my family whole, balanced meals. I try to fit some sort of movement in. Right now, it’s usually just walking, and it’s whenever I can fit it in. We prioritize sleep in our house - we’ve learned through Brady’s two surgeries that quality sleep is the best thing for our bodies. I am diligent about tracking my sleep on my Oura ring - it helps create the awareness I need to get the right amount and quality of sleep.

What are your top 3 “Can’t live without products?”

  1. Electrolytes: After I had my second baby I realized that daily electrolytes saved me in those first few weeks postpartum. Through the stressful season of life we are in right now, electrolytes help me stay hydrated and give me the minerals I need to avoid depletion and unnecessary stress (I’ve got enough of that). My favorite by far is the Taylor Dukes Wellness brand, but will occasionally also have LMNT. I also add Ausie Trace Minerals.

  2. Holistic Pathways “Pure Calm” Tincture: As I navigate this healing journey with my husband, while raising toddlers and running two businesses, it’s just sometimes too much for my nervous system. Pure Calm is a product that both my husband and I use when we need to cut the edge on high, constant stress or anxiety. The more I learn about herbs, the more I understand that plants are truly medicine.

  3. Lumebox: I use my Lumebox red-light daily. For aches and pains, for stress management, for energy production and skin care.

What’s your advice for someone starting their wellness journey?

It’s going to take time - it won’t happen overnight. I think a cancer diagnosis is probably the biggest catalyst for change for many people, and even with all that extra motivation, you soon realize that wellness is a lifelong journey and not a destination to reach.  In our family we follow the 80/20 rule, and if we can be better that day, then we do. We refuse to set a standard of perfection, because it’s not reality. I think setting the foundation is the most important thing you can do to start. Prioritize sleep, move your body (however that looks for you) everyday, try to eat whole foods and balanced meals (shop the perimeter of the grocery store), avoid seed oils, get sunlight in your eyes everyday, put your feet on the earth, practice gratitude, and find moments of JOY in your everyday. The foundational things are FREE. Those simple changes are enough to move the needle for most people.

What are your dreams for the future?

At this point in my life, I dream of the whole health and wellness of my family. Raising my boys with my husband and living a vibrant, joyful life because each one of us has our health. A cancer diagnosis of a loved one feels earth shattering. When it’s the love of your life and father of your toddler children, it’s especially a hard reality. Priorities realign quickly. I believe that God has given us all the knowledge and tools for Brady to reach NED (no evidence of disease). I dream of our family thriving because of the hardships we have endured. And sharing our testimony. Better days are ahead for us.

In terms of Wellrado, I dream of changing the outcome of cancer in our communities through prevention and support of cancer patients. From the start, I’ve wanted to bring the integrative modalities Brady received at the Cancer Center for Healing to rural Colorado. I think Wellrado was made for this exact time in history and  I hope that Lyndsay and I can change lives (as cliche as it sounds) and offer hope for complete healing to those who need it.

Fun facts about me.

  1. I am obsessed with home design and business branding. Since I was young, I’ve always noticed the design of buildings and easily distinguished the “feel” that good design creates. My notebook of business ideas is lengthy.

  2. I am a licensed attorney and own my estate planning and business law firm in our rural town.

  3. In 2022, Brady and I accomplished a lifelong dream of mine to renovate a historic main street building. We designed it together and we both work out of the same building in our two businesses. My favorite thing is working in the same place as my husband on our own terms.

  4. The ocean is my love language, and when I was deciding where I was going to go to college I had two requirements - I wanted to play softball and I wanted to be by the ocean.

  5. Brady and I met for the first time after I graduated law school. I knew nearly all of Brady’s extended family, but had never met him. God’s timing. After our first day, I knew he was it for me.
